HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Launches 3,000-Ton-Class Korea Coast Guard Patrol Vessel
HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) has successfully held a launching ceremony for a 3,000-ton-class patrol vessel, Taepyeongyang 21, at its Ulsan shipyard.
The vessel has been built for the Korea Coast Guard to enhance maritime security and safeguard national waters, as well as to protect the lives and property of citizens at sea.
Measuring approximately 117 meters in length and 15 meters in beam, the vessel is capable of reaching speeds of up to 28 knots. It is designed to perform a wide range of missions, including maritime law enforcement, search and rescue operations, and emergency response in complex maritime environments. The patrol vessel is equipped with advanced onboard systems and high-speed boats, significantly improving rapid response capabilities and operational efficiency in various maritime scenarios.
The successful launch of Taepyeongyang 21 highlights HD Hyundai Heavy Industries’ strong track record in building high-performance patrol vessels and its commitment to supporting national maritime security.
